Pamela Anderson & Jamie Lee Curtis Talk The Last Showgirl: A Story of Resilience.
The Last Showgirl is all about reinvention, resilience, and embracing new beginnings. The film follows a legendary showgirl as she navigates the ups and downs of life, proving that transformation is always possible, even when things seem tough. With Pamela Anderson leading the way, this movie is a beautiful reminder that even life’s messiest moments can be something incredible.
Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis recently sat down for a conversation that was equal parts hilarious and inspiring. When asked about the cathartic process of telling these stories, Pamela revealed, “Doing a film is cathartic... I could bring my entire life experience and pour it into this experience and this character. Happiness is a choice, no matter what you’ve gone through in your life. Use it as fuel, as fertilizer, and plant a new garden of your life.”
Jamie Lee, of course, added a funny twist, saying, “We’ve taken the poop from our lives and turned it into fertilizer.” She continued with a laugh, “I sold yogurt that made you poop for years! I was trying to take care of my kids and stay home with my kids, and that was how I did it. But my point is, you take that and you fertilize your creative life, and then once in a while, the miracle of creation takes place and you get opportunities that turn into movies like this.”
When asked what they’d change if they were in charge of Hollywood, Jamie Lee quickly fired back: “Hire more women. Done. That was the easiest.” Pamela was fully on board, adding, “This film was shot by a woman, produced by a woman, directed by a woman, starring many women... and the girl with the boom boom operator was a woman!” She also gave a shout-out to Miley Cyrus for her song in the film, saying her voice and journey of reinvention were the perfect cherry on top.
The bottom line? Reinvention is always possible, and life’s messes can turn into something magical. Oh, and hire more women—obviously.
